There are problems with this scenario: it cannot be set-up using the standard terrain tiles of Memoir '44 and the selected extensions. There are too many terrains of one or more types. Please contact the author.

Historical Background:
Due to the constant deterioration on the Russian front the Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler was ordered there at all possible speed. Feesh from their training in Ploermel, Michael Wittmann and his crew were eager to test their skills. Upon reaching the outskirts of Merefa, Wittmann's platoon halted and took up defensive positions. After a scouting mission Wittmann discovered 2 artillery guns hidden in two houses with only the muzzle brakes of these weapons protruding through the blown out windows. 'Prepare for attack', shouted Wittmann to his tense crew, as they were about to enter combat for the first time in their new Tiger tank.
After both artillery guns had been dealt with, a Russian column of trucks, tanks and infantery on foot entered the town. Suddenly the leading T-34 made a dash toward Wittmann's platoon. A well aimed shot blew the turret off the T-34. As soon as the rest of the infantry in the streets was dealt with, Wittmann's platoon turned its attention on the Russian tanks. Some tanks tried to flee and became bogged down in the open fields where they were destroyed one by one.
The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
