Historical Background: The 18th and 49th Japanese Infantry Divisions and some tanks of the 14th Tank Regiment were in the vicinity of Meiktila, So General Cowan had to reorganize his defense of the city. The 9th Indian Brigade,part of the 5th Indian Division, just arrived by airlift was ordered to defend the perimeter of the airfield while the brigades of the 17th Indian Division continued their offensive operations around of Meiktila. In the night of 24 March, Japanese launched a new attack with tanks and infantry. Despite the violence of the assault, Japanese were repelled with heavy losses by the fire of machine-guns and artillery. After that, with too many losses the two Japanese divisions were not able to continue their attack. On the 28th March, General Kimura ordered to the 33rd Army to withdraw to the south. The battle of Meiktila was over. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn and you are in command. The rest is history.

Conditions of Victory: 6 medals. The main hexagon of the airfield is a temporary medal objective for the Japanese player.
