Historical Background:
During the attack against the "Cauldron", Operation Aberdeen, British troops of the XIII Army Corps, and mainly the 32nd Armoured Brigade, crossed the Sidra Ridge and advanced under the fire of the anti-tanks guns of the 21.Panzer Division. British tanks suffered heavy losses before withdrawing in disorder. Moreover, the 42nd RTR advanced in a minefield and lost some more tanks. Operation Aberdeen was a new defeat for the British troops and at that time, Rommel launched a better-prepared counter-attack.
