After a night advance under a pouring rain, the battalion was on the starting positions near the river and then advanced on the axe of the trail. The objective was to capture the hills which overlook the ford of the river. In spite of the accurate fire of Italian infantry the battalion of the "Force Publique" captured all its objectives with the effective support of the machine-gun company and a mortar platoon.
