Historical Background:
After the liberation of Taman Peninsula, the Soviet Command decided to land on the eastern coast of Crimea. A diversionary landing was planned near the village of Eltigen while the main assault was made at Ganikale, north of Kertch city. During the night 31st October to 1st November 1943, Soviet soldiers of the 318th Rifle Division and 386th Naval Infantry Battalion landed at Eltigen, surprising the German and Romanian defenders. At the end of the day, Soviet troops succeeded to set up a beachhead 2 km deep. But Axis troops didn't stay inactive...
The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
