Historical Background: On the 18th of November 1944, Lieutenant General Horrocks, commander of the XXX British Corps, launched the operation Clipper to take the Geilenkirchen salient, north of Aachen. It was a pincer movement in order to surround and capture the city. The left pincer was the 214th Infantry Brigade (43rd British Infantry Division) and the right pincer was the 84th US Infantry Division. All these infantry units were reinforced by British tanks of the 4th/7th Dragoon Guards and Hobart's funnies tanks, Flails (mine digger) and Crocodiles (flame-thrower). In spite of an heavy resistance by the German troops and the muddy ground, Geilenkirchen was captured by Allied troops on the 19th of November 1944. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn and you are in command. The rest is history.
