Historical Background: After Dunkirk, the policy of Winston Churchill was to harass German troops everywhere, so the British Army created new units, "commandos" in charge to strike enemy units by amphibious raids. The raid on Vaagsö, Norway, was one of the best. The operation was carried out by Commando n°3 under the command of Ltc John Durnford-Slater. It consisted to land on the Vaagsö island, to annihilate the German garrison and to destroy all fish-oil used for German services. The raid was a total success for the British commandos with big results and only some losses. After this raid, Hitler decided to reinforce Norway with several divisions which were missing on the eastern front and later in the Normandy front.
