[New Britain] Battle of Aogiri Ridge - January 05, 1944 - January 14, 1944

Historical Background:
After the Japanese attack on Target Hill on the 3rd January, the Marines began their advance to the south. Hill 150 was easily captured because of the weak defense of the Japanese. But on the 7th January, the marines (1/7 battalion) was stopped by a hard resistance on Aogiri Ridge, the Japanese were entrenched in bunkers with machine guns and snipers. During the battle of Aogiri Ridge, the Marines had to fight against several "banzaï" charges which were stopped mainly by US artillery. Aogiri Ridge was captured on the 10th January and the Marines could captured Hill 660, their final objective, in the evening of the 14th January.
The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn and you are in command. The rest is history. !

Axis player [Japan] : 5 command cards.
Allied player [USMC] : 6 command cards, you move first.

Conditions of Victory:
7 medals.
The capture of Hill 660 is a temporary medal objective for the Allied player.

Special Rules:
- Use "Japanese Imperial Army" rules (Nations 3).
- Use "US Marine Corps" rules (Nations 4).
- Special Weapon Asset >1942 rules (SWAs 4) are in effect for the units equipped with mortars and machine-guns (SWAs 6 & 7).
- Use "Sniper" rules (Troop 10) to the Japanese infantry unit with a single figure.
