Historical Background:
After the battle of Szack on September 28, Gen. Wilhelm Orlik-R├╝ckemann, commander of the Polish Border Defence Corps, decided to cross the Bug River and continue the fight there. On September 30 the Poles had crossed the river and settled down in and around Wytyczno. The Polish unit was reduced to merely 3,000 men and was lacking heavy equipment and ammunition.
Soon after daybreak on October 1, the Soviet 45th Rifle Division, expecting the Polish unit to be completely routed and composed entirely of officers, started a frontal assault on the village of Wytyczno. Both sides suffered heavy losses and at 9AM the Polish 75 mm artillery had no more than 60 shells left and the howitzers had not more than 10 per barrel.
The Polish defences were getting weaker with every hour and with all probability the battle would end by dawn with a complete Polish defeat. A war council was held and it was decided that the only option for survival was to withdraw, divide the unit onto smaller detachments and try to break through to the units of Independent Operational Group Polesie fighting nearby. At noon the Polish units successfully withdrew to the forests.
The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.

Allied player [Poland] : take 4 Command cards.
Axis player [Russia] : take 6 Command cards.
Axis player moves first.

Conditions of Victory:
6 medals.
Exit markers on the Allied baseline for the Allied forces. Each Exit marker can be used only 1 time and gives 1 Victory Medal if a unit exits. Exits can only be used from the moment the Allied player has reached 3 Victory Medals.
The Axis player receives 1 Permanent Objective Medal if he occupies 1 of the 5 hexes of the village of Wytyczno (church included) without an Allied unit being present on 1 of those 5 hexes.

Special Rules:
* Barrage is removed from the deck before start of game.
* Air Power is played as Artillery Bombard.
* The Polish artillery units start with 1 figure. Despite being depleted they do count as a Victory Medal if eliminated.
* The bridges can only be entered and exited in the direction of the bridge.
* Apply Russian Political Commissar rules to the Axis player (Nations 2 - Red Army).

Please note that this scenario was not approved by Richard Borg or Days of Wonder, so you have to check yourself about playability, potential gaming issues, etc.
