Historical Background:
In January 1944, the SS division Nordland was in defensive position in the area of Volossovo near Leningrad. On the 26th of January, in the village of Goubanizy, the Nordland Recce Group (Aufklärungs Abteilung Nordland) had to defend the village against a powerful attack of Soviet tanks. With its light armoured vehicles and three antitank guns PAK 40, the Recce Group could stopped the enemy attack. The Soviet troops withdrew but 48 tanks were burning in front of the village.
