Historical Background: After the capture of Marsa El Brega, then Agedabia, Axis troops advanced in two directions, one along the Via Balbia towards Benghasi and the other across the desert towards El Mechili, strategic crossroad of camel trails in the middle of nowhere. The 3rd Indian Motor Brigade was there, with a battery of Royal Horse Artillery and some tanks remnants of the 2nd Armored Division. On the 7th of April 1941, El Mechili was surrounded by two columns of the 8th Regiment of "Bersaglieri" and an armored element of the 5.Leichte Division (Deutsche Afrika Korps). On the 8th of April, after declining the offer of surrender, the British units tried to breakthrough the surrounding. Each attempt failed in front of Italian troops and only some rare elements succeeded to reach Tobruk. Most of surrounded troops were captured with a large number of vehicles to the benefit of Axis troops. For General Rommel, the next step was Tobruk. the stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.

Conditions of Victory: 5 medals. For the Allied player, use the "Exit" token rules to the hex called "Vers Tobrouk".
