Historical Background: In early March 1943, Patton tooh the command of 2nd Army Corps and ordered immediately the offensive. The 1st Armored Division captured Maknassy and had to take the pass on Djebel Naemia (Hill 322) in the east of the city. The pass was defended by Italians of the Brigata Imperiali and Germans of the Begleitkompanie of Kampfstaffel "Rommel with an anti-tank gun (PAK 38) and a 88mm FLAK. The attack began before daylight on the 22nd of March, but the US troops were delayed by a minefield and finally stopped by the fire of the defenders yet inferior in number. On the 25th of March a new US attack failed because the defenders had been reinforced in the meanwhile. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
Briefing: Axis player [Germany/Italy] : 5 command cards. Allied player [United States] : 6 command cards, you move first.
Conditions of Victory: 7 medals. For the Allied player, use the "Exit" token rules (Action 23) to the road hexagon "vers Mezzouna".
Special Rules: - Use "Royal Italian Army" rules (Nations 6) to the four Axis units with Italian badges. Don't use the "Italian High Command" rule. - Special Weapon Asset Rules (SWAs 4) are in effect for the German unit equipped with Antitank Weapons (SWAs 5). - Use "Heavy Anti-Tank Guns" rules (Troops 23) to the Axis artillery unit with 88 badge. - The Axis player lays out the minefields (Terrains 29). Mines : 2x0, 1x1, 2x2, 1x3, 1x4. - Use "Night Attacks" rules (Actions 19).
