Historical Background:
In order to cut the retreat road of Axis troops from Wadi Akarit, the IX Corps under command of General Crocker attacked Fondouk Pass defended by infantrymen of the 999.Leichte Afrika Division. While the Welsh Guards attacked German positions on Djebel Rhorab and US troops of the 34th Infantry Division did the same on Djebel Aouareb, British tanks of the 6th Armoured Division charged in the Pass. But immediately tanks of the 17/21st Lancers were under the fire of 88mm guns and most of them were destroyed. The 16/5th Lancers advanced in the wadi which was not mined by the Germans and could bypass the German positions. Finally it was an Allied victory but at heavy price.
The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
