Historical Background: June 1940, the German offensive "Fall Rot" was on the move, German troops, superior in number, advanced on the whole front. After the battle on the Somme river, French divisions withdrew to the Oise to protect Paris. At that place, a line of field bunkers, called Chauvineau line, had been built after the Poland campaign to secure Paris from the north. The decimated french divisions entrenched in that line to stop the enemy. On the 12th of June, German infantrymen tried to cross the Oise river with rubber boats and using the footbridge over the dam on the river. The 13th French Infantry Division defended the area and inflicted severe losses to the German troops. A desperate counter-attack by a French section repelled the German soldiers on the other side of the river. The 13th Infantry Division had fulfilled its defensive mission but received the order to withdraw the day after, because Paris had been declared open city. The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.
